Your account & your data
Exporting your data
You can take a complete, machine-readable copy of your data at any time:
- Open Settings → Privacy → Export My Data.
- The app produces a JSON archive of your artworks, encounters, certificates, provenance records, condition reports, taste profile, and account data.
- On iOS/Android you can share or save the file. On the web version the export is copied to your clipboard instead of downloaded.
This is your data-portability right under POPIA (section 24) and GDPR (Article 20) — no charge, no questions.
Deleting your account
Deletion is immediate and permanent. Consider exporting your data first — a deleted account cannot be restored.
- Open Profile → Settings, scroll to Account, and tap Delete account.
- Type DELETE (exactly, in capitals) to confirm, then tap the delete button.
- Your account is deleted server-side immediately and you are signed out.
If you can't access the app, email info@atteste.art from your registered address with the subject "Delete my account". We complete emailed requests within 30 calendar days (typically within 72 hours) and may ask a couple of verification questions.
What's deleted: your profile, artworks and photos, encounters, certificates, trails, taste profile and Companion history, and related records. What's retained: anonymised purchase records (7 years, tax law), anonymised certificate hashes (so previously issued certificates stay verifiable), and backup snapshots for up to 35 days. Full detail is on the account deletion page.
Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it in your Apple/Google settings too, or it will keep renewing. See Subscriptions & billing.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you are, you can: access your data, correct it, delete it, withdraw consent, export it (portability), and lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. Most of these are self-service in Settings; anything else, email info@atteste.art — we respond within 30 days. Our Privacy Policy has the full picture, including where data is stored (Google Cloud, primarily europe-west and africa-south1 regions).
Voice data
Voice features (the Companion's voice mode and spoken provenance recording) ask for separate consent on first use. Live microphone audio is streamed to Google's Gemini Live service in real time, is not stored by Google after the session ends, and is never used for biometric identification or model training. See AI features.
