How to Delete Your Atteste Account

At a Glance
Atteste lets you delete your account at any time, directly inside the app. Your collection, encounters, and personal data are removed immediately. A small set of records is retained for a short period after deletion, only where the law or platform integrity requires it — see the table below.
Delete from inside the app
- Open Atteste and sign in.
- Tap Profile (bottom-right of the navigation bar).
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation prompt. To confirm, type DELETE into the field exactly as shown (case-sensitive), then tap Delete my account permanently.
The deletion runs server-side immediately. You will be signed out as soon as it completes. If you re-install Atteste later, you will need to create a new account — the previous account cannot be restored.
Delete by request
If you cannot access the in-app flow (for example, the device the account was created on is no longer available), email info@atteste.art from the email address registered on the account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 calendar days, typically within 72 hours. We may ask one or two follow-up questions to verify ownership of the account before deleting.
What gets deleted
The following are deleted immediately and permanently when you delete your account:
- Your user profile (name, email, country, onboarding persona)
- Your artworks and the photos you uploaded for them
- Your art encounters (locations, photos, transcripts)
- Your certificates of authenticity
- Your discovery trails and progress
- Your taste profile and AI conversation history with the Companion
- Your gamification stats, achievements, and Year-in-Art summaries
- Your collector profile and any bid trackers
- Your saved auction alerts and watchlist entries
- Your custom dashboard preferences
What is retained, and why
A small amount of information must be retained for the limited periods listed below. None of it is used to re-identify you for marketing or analytics after deletion.

If you are subject to a regulator's preservation order or similar legal hold, we may retain additional records for the duration of the order. We will notify you if this applies.
Your rights
You can also request export of your data before deletion (GDPR Article 20 / POPIA Section 24 / equivalent rights elsewhere). The in-app Settings → Privacy → Export my data flow produces a machine-readable archive of everything in your account.
